JOGLE Blog - May’21 May 31 Written By Maul Together May arrived and Ed’s challenge was for the team to cycle around as many rugby clubs as possible. Plus the team had to get a 100 mile ride in (including 5,000 ft) followed by a 20 miler. On the weekends, the lads got out together and went around most of the Shropshire and Staffordshire clubs including here at Market Drayton. Maul Together team London managed to get out a few times together and found some great spots to cycle. Also there are a huge amount of rugby clubs in London and I think Ed and Emily managed to visit most of them. The team did their first organised ride - Royal British Legion Poppy Ride! A great day and 136 km ride even though they were hit by the biggest downpour of rain which socked the team through! After the ride they continued for a few miles to get up to 100 miles. After all the Shropshire Clubs were ticked off, the lads started heading to the other local clubs including DK and Stourbridge. Will finally got a new lightweight carbon bike which allowed him to get some good miles in and increase his average speed over 5 mph. Unfortunately Will started getting tire blow outs and punctures during most of his rides including here when he pulled into Shrewsbury RFC. Here is the final tally of clubs visited and the teams miles. A great effort by the team! Maul Together
